Position

The hut is located between Unken and Lofer, on the Unkenberg on the Tyrolean side. Here you can get to the hut by car on a forest road with an authorization card (ticket € 10/car/stay). It is in a sunny, absolutely quiet, secluded location. There are also small calves on the mountain pasture that graze on the surrounding meadows. 

Distances

Nearest town Unken 8km, Lofer 13km, the picturesque Heutal 14km. Managed alpine pasture 3.4km and about 1 hour's walk. The hut is ideal for trips to the nearby Loferer Alm. In addition to many managed alpine pastures, there is an adventure playground, via ferrata, waterfall path and crystal-clear mountain lakes. From the hut you can hike or cycle to gorges, caves and alpine pastures by mountain bike. Bad Reichenhall thermal baths 25km, mountain bike rental 7km. The hut is also the ideal starting point for trips to the city of Salzburg, the mountains of Tyrol or Bavaria!

Furnishing

The cabin is very quaint and rustic. Ground floor: living room with seating area and wood stove with oven. Room with sink (cold water), toilet (no flush). First floor: bunk bed and large double bed in the stairwell, passage to double room. Light with solar power, no sockets, 12 volt solar system (mobile phone charging possible). Heating with wood stove. Cool storage cellar for food. Terrace in front of the cabin with seating area with a wonderful view over the meadows and forests, garden with barbecue area and water trough. 

Additional costs on site subject to minor changes

Local tax currently € 1.75/person/night, final cleaning € 60. Bed linen € 7/set can be rented (please bring your own towels).
