Position

The hut is in a wonderful, secluded location and is in absolute silence, with a wide view, about 2 km above Lake Preber. It can be reached via a 1.5 km long forest road (in winter with four-wheel drive/chains).

Distances

The 5.5 hectare Prebersee, a paradise for anglers, is 2km away, very nice circular hiking trail around the lake, start of the mountain bike Preber tour from the hut! Serviced hut on the lake with local cuisine 2km, in summer many alpine pastures are also serviced. Next big town Tamsweg 11km. Speiereck ski area 20km.

The cabin has a very cozy living room on the ground floor, which is built around the large stove, which is also used for cooking. Kitchen area with refrigerator, sink, coffee machine. Cozy seating area with stove bench, exit to the covered terrace with a wonderful view. Shower/toilet. Sauna (accessible from outside). First floor: Stairs directly into the triple room (double bed, single bed), passageway to a small double room and passageway to a twin room with an extra bed (approx. 170cm long) with balcony! Above the town of Lofer, standing alone on a large meadow, above the road, with a beautiful view. If there is enough snow, there is a descent to the hut from the ski area. If there is enough snow, you can ski down from the hut to the ski bus station.

Lofer town for shopping with restaurants, swimming pool, bike rental, tennis 1.5km. Fresh farm products/farm sales available 300m away. Lofer ski area 1km. Waidring bathing lake 10km, hiking and cycling trails directly from the house! The Loferer Alm offers wonderful refreshment in summer: 2 mountain lakes on the Alm invite you to cool off! The waterfall trail offers 12 sparkling stations and leads through shady forest and along roaring waterfalls up to the Alm.

Position

The Family Resort is located on a sunny plateau in the middle of the picturesque village of Werfenweng, just 45 km south of Salzburg, 10 minutes from the Eisriesenwelt and Hohenwerfen Castle. In December 2023, 4 luxury chalets will open near the hotel, which can be used with all the resort's services (excluding food and drinks).

Rosnerköpfl gondola lift directly opposite with forest ropes course, mountain cart track, FunLiner, downhill skiing, mountain bike trails and restaurants. Nearest town Zederhaus 6km or St. Michael im Lungau with shops, restaurants 16km. Großeck-Speiereck ski area 20km. Katschberg 23km. The Ski amadé region (entrance to the Flachauwinkel-Zauchensee-Kleinarl ski area) can be easily reached via the Tauern tunnel in 20 minutes (23km). Ideal starting point for ski tours from the hut. The Riedingtal is a nature park with a healthy high-altitude climate, with managed alpine pastures and quiet mountain lakes in summer. You can take the valley bus to the traffic-calmed Riedingtal. Numerous large and small lakes are located in this attractive nature reserve. Many managed alpine pastures with homemade products invite you to take a break. Mountain hikes to the nearby peaks offer views as far as the Großglockner!

The lifts of the Radstadt-Altenmarkt ski area (member of Ski amadé) can be reached from the hut via a slope. Ski area and ski schools 1km by ski (inclined route) or 3km by car, Obertauern ski area about 15 minutes by car (seasonal operation until the beginning of May!), Tauern cross-country ski run 2km, 6km long illuminated toboggan run passes under the hut. Only 1km from the center of Saalbach, but still absolutely quiet and surrounded by meadows. In winter access up to approx. 200m depending on snow conditions (snow chains may be required); in summer access up to the hut.

Here it's time to strap on your skis and head to the slopes, which are directly accessible via the Schattberg ski route! You have a direct connection to all ski lifts in Saalbach/Hinterglemm/Leogang. 270km of slopes, 70 lifts, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, etc. and of course après ski await you! Ideal as a starting point for hikes in the Glemmtal, bike rental, tennis, swimming pool, etc. in the village 1km away. The Saalbach region offers 400km of hiking trails, and those who prefer to pedal can head to the Saalbach Hinterglemm bike paradise on over 400km of well-signposted bike routes and trails. Saalbach Hinterglemm is the largest bike region in Austria. For families there are themed hiking trails, adventure playgrounds, swimming fun and many attractions.

The heating stove and the open fireplace (wood, and wood briquettes available in winter) ensure a homely atmosphere. The kitchenette has a gas stove, and there is a cool cellar. The bedroom has a double bed and a bunk bed. Hygienic outhouse accessible from outside (always emptied when cleaned). Lighting using battery-powered LED lamps. Furniture safe available! In front of the hut there is a fountain and a small stream. In the garden there is a fireplace and a brick garden grill, as well as seating and deck chairs.
