Position

The hut is very sunny, absolutely quiet, with a wonderful view, in the middle of the skiing and hiking area on the Loferer Alm. In winter, you can reach it by cable car and then by chairlift and a slight incline (luggage transport with the hut owner) or non-skiers can walk 1km to the hut after the cable car. In summer, you can drive directly there in your own car (1x toll). In summer, the cows are on the mountain pasture and the landlord comes by twice a day to milk them.

Position

Only 1km from the center of Saalbach, but still absolutely quiet and surrounded by meadows. In winter access up to approx. 200m depending on snow conditions (snow chains may be required); in summer access up to the hut.

Here it's time to strap on your skis and head to the slopes, which are directly accessible via the Schattberg ski route! You have a direct connection to all ski lifts in Saalbach/Hinterglemm/Leogang. 270km of slopes, 70 lifts, cross-country skiing, tobogganing, etc. and of course après ski await you! Ideal as a starting point for hikes in the Glemmtal, bike rental, tennis, swimming pool, etc. in the village 1km away. The Saalbach region offers 400km of hiking trails, and those who prefer to pedal can head to the Saalbach Hinterglemm bike paradise on over 400km of well-signposted bike routes and trails. Saalbach Hinterglemm is the largest bike region in Austria. For families there are themed hiking trails, adventure playgrounds, swimming fun and many attractions.

This very well-kept hut has been deliberately left quaint and rustic. You will find a cozy cabin room with a seating area and rocking chair. The heating stove and the open fireplace (wood, and wood briquettes available in winter) ensure a homely atmosphere. The kitchenette has a gas stove, and there is a cool cellar. The bedroom has a double bed and a bunk bed. Hygienic outhouse accessible from outside (always emptied when cleaned). Lighting using battery-powered LED lamps. Furniture safe available! In front of the hut there is a fountain and a small stream. In the garden there is a fireplace and a brick garden grill, as well as seating and deck chairs. Enjoy the view of the center of Saalbach, the opposite side of the mountain and the Glemmtal from the large wooden relaxation cradle for 2 people! Let yourself be pampered: the price includes use of the wellness area in the owner's apartment building 400m away. Here you will find a sauna, infrared loungers and a place to charge batteries. In the middle of the family-friendly Fageralm ski and hiking area, next to the FAG-SBG hut, with a wonderful view of the Dachstein panorama. The Fageralm ski area is a member of ski amadé (one ski pass for over 760km of slopes and 270 cable cars and lifts). The Fageralm is connected to the other ski areas by a free ski bus. Directly in Forstau, on the Fageralm, you will find 7 lifts with 15km of slopes.

The hut is located directly on the ski slope and in the alpine pasture and hiking area. In winter, access by ski lift (chair and drag lift) and descent to the hut or footpath from the chair lift 1.5 km. Accessible by car in summer, ideal starting point for hikes in the surrounding mountains. This hut is located in the middle of the Postalm between Abtenau and Strobl on Lake Wolfgang. On an alpine meadow, in a sunny, secluded location. The neighboring huts are about 200m away. The hut can be reached up to 200m via a toll road. As of 2024: Winter from Strobl € 10.00/person € 5.00/child or from Abtenau € 17.00/car. Summer from Strobl € 17.00 per car or from Abtenau € 13.00/car. In winter: the toll is refunded when you buy a lift ticket. In winter access up to 200m, in summer you can drive the last 200m to the hut via a forest path/meadow path.

Nearest town Abtenau 15km or Strobl on Lake Wolfgangsee 15km. Postalm ski area with ski school, fun park, ski rental, high-altitude trails (up to 15km long!), 8 lifts and 20km of groomed slopes within 1.5km. Leave your car behind: free ski bus service! The Postalm is particularly popular with families, and is also ideal for cross-country skiers and ski tourers! In summer, there are circular hiking trails, the via ferrata in the Postalm Gorge, mountain bike tours, swimming under the waterfall or trips to one of the numerous managed huts and to the Salzkammergut. Lake Wolfgangsee can be reached by car in 30 minutes. Fresh farm products are available within 1.5km in summer.

Bodensdorf 9km, Gerlitzen summit 3km, Ossiachersee 9km, Sepplhütte (serviced) 400m, tip: Seppenhütten circular hiking trail (walking time approx. 3:20)! The excursion destinations Affenberg, Finsterbach waterfalls or the Landskron castle ruins on the western shore of the Ossiachersee are excursion destinations for the whole family. There is also an adventure park on the Gerlitzen with over 160 exciting stations! Many marked hiking and mountain bike routes in the area!

Position

The hut is very close to the Austrian border, in Bavaria, in the middle of the alpine pasture, in the Winklmoosalm/Steinplatte skiing and hiking area. (14 lifts, 44km of slopes). You can leave your car in the car park in Seegatterl and from there take the cable car up to the Winklmoosalm, or take your own car (4km driveway). It is then about 650m from the Winklmoosalm car park to the hut. The hut owner will help with luggage transport. In summer, there is access to the alpine pasture.

Next town with shops, inns Reit im Winkl 9km, ski area with ski school in the immediate vicinity, also over 35km of cross-country ski trails and winter hiking trails, which are stroller and family friendly in summer. In winter, take the four-seater chairlift to the middle station. The landlord will help you transport your luggage with his car. Due to the location on the edge of a raised bog, the air is aromatic and enriched with lots of oxygen, making the hut ideal for asthma sufferers!

In summer it can be reached either by car via a toll road (7km forest path) and a 20-minute walk, or via the cable car and a 20-minute walk. Luggage must be carried in a backpack.

The rustic hut has a living room with a seating area and a kitchenette with a wood stove and oven. Electric stove (2 plates), kettle, coffee machine available. Small bedroom with double bed (160cm wide), stairs from the living room to the attic, where there is sleeping space for up to 8 people. There is a shower with hot water (electric boiler) on the side, otherwise water can be fetched from the well in front of the hut. Toilet. In the basement is the old "poacher's hideout".
