Position

The hut is very sunny, absolutely quiet, with a wonderful view, in the middle of the skiing and hiking area on the Loferer Alm. In winter, you can reach it by cable car and then by chairlift and a slight incline (luggage transport with the hut owner) or non-skiers can walk 1km to the hut after the cable car. In summer, you can drive directly there in your own car (1x toll). In summer, the cows are on the mountain pasture and the landlord comes by twice a day to milk them.

In the middle of the family-friendly Fageralm ski and hiking area, next to the FAG-SBG hut, with a wonderful view of the Dachstein panorama. The Fageralm ski area is a member of ski amadé (one ski pass for over 760km of slopes and 270 cable cars and lifts). The Fageralm is connected to the other ski areas by a free ski bus. Directly in Forstau, on the Fageralm, you will find 7 lifts with 15km of slopes.

The hut is located directly on the ski slope and in the alpine pasture and hiking area. In winter, access by ski lift (chair and drag lift) and descent to the hut or footpath from the chair lift 1.5 km. The hut is very close to the Austrian border, in Bavaria, in the middle of the alpine pasture, in the Winklmoosalm/Steinplatte skiing and hiking area. (14 lifts, 44km of slopes). You can leave your car in the car park in Seegatterl and from there take the cable car up to the Winklmoosalm, or take your own car (4km driveway). It is then about 650m from the Winklmoosalm car park to the hut. The hut owner will help with luggage transport. In summer, there is access to the alpine pasture.
