Position

The alpine hut is located together with a few temporarily inhabited huts above the municipality of Maria Alm, in the middle of an alpine area. Situated on a plateau, you have a fantastic view of the Steinernes Meer and Hochkönig mountain ranges. The alpine hut can be reached directly via a 5km long farm track (gravel road). 

Distances

Maria Alm 8 km. There are grocery stores, restaurants and various leisure activities. For a leisurely shopping trip, Saalfelden is recommended at 13 km. The nearest inn is 5 km away. Swimming pool and tennis courts are around 9 km away, golf is 10 km away. The alpine hut is an ideal starting point for hiking the grassy mountains around the Hundstein or the Steinernes Meer. There are also great tours for mountain bikers in the area around Maria Alm.

Ground floor: The heart of the hut is the spacious living room, which offers space for cooking and baking together on the wood or gas stove, as well as for eating and getting together. Kitchen area with wood stove, oven, 2-burner gas stove, running water. 2 bedrooms, 1 toilet. The shower (hot water via gas instantaneous water heater) and the 2nd toilet are accessible from the side through a separate entrance. Cool cellar for groceries. First floor: Triple room (an additional person/child would have space here on a shorter 4th mattress). A photovoltaic system on the roof generates electricity so that there is light. (No sockets). In front of the hut there is a terrace with a sunny seating area, deck chairs and a grill. The rustic alpine hut, with individual accents that are reminiscent of earlier alpine life, invites you to relax and unwind and is therefore an ideal holiday home for those seeking peace and quiet, families and nature lovers. Please bring your own bed linen and towels.

The farmhouse is located on a sunny slope, above the village of Viehhofen, at the end of a 1km long forest path. Chains required in winter. 

Distances

Place for shopping in Viehhofen 2km. Ski bus stop 1km. Entry to the Saalbach-Hinterglemm ski circus at the Schönleitenbahn 4km away. Experienced skiers can ski from the ski area (from piste 68/Hecherhütte) on a 1km deep snow slope to the house. Ski school 2km. In summer, ideal starting point for long hikes or bike tours. Hinterglemm outdoor pool 10km, Zell am See 9km.

You live on the ground floor and first floor, where you have your own entrance at the back of the house. The landlord lives in the basement (on a slope). In the middle of the family-friendly Fageralm ski and hiking area, next to the FOR-SBG hut, with a wonderful view of the Dachstein panorama. The Fageralm ski area is a member of ski amadé (one ski pass for over 760km of slopes and 270 cable cars and lifts). The Fageralm is connected to the other ski areas by a free ski bus. Directly in Forstau, on the Fageralm you will find 7 lifts with 15km of slopes. 

Distances

The hut is located directly on the ski slope and in the alpine pasture and hiking area. In winter, access by ski lift (chair and drag lift) and descent to the hut or footpath from the chair lift 1.5 km. Luggage transport (passenger transport also possible on request) by the landlord with a skidoo. Tobogganing possible from the hut, serviced hut 150m. In summer, accessible by car, ideal starting point for hikes in the surrounding mountains. Shopping, horse riding, tennis, golf, horse-drawn sleigh rides, etc. in the valley near the towns of Forstau and Radstadt, 10 - 14 km away.

The Family Resort is located on a sunny plateau in the middle of the picturesque village of Werfenweng, just 45 km south of Salzburg, 10 minutes from the Eisriesenwelt and Hohenwerfen Castle. This hut is located in the middle of the Postalm between Abtenau and Strobl on Lake Wolfgang. On an alpine meadow, in a sunny, secluded location. The neighboring huts are about 200m away. The hut can be reached up to 200m via a toll road. As of 2024: Winter from Strobl € 10.00/person € 5.00/child or from Abtenau € 17.00/car. Summer from Strobl € 17.00 per car or from Abtenau € 13.00/car. In winter: the toll is refunded when you buy a lift ticket. In winter access up to 200m, in summer you can drive the last 200m to the hut via a forest path/meadow path.

Nearest town Abtenau 15km or Strobl on Lake Wolfgangsee 15km. Postalm ski area with ski school, fun park, ski rental, high-altitude trails (up to 15km long!), 8 lifts and 20km of groomed slopes within 1.5km. Leave your car behind: free ski bus service! The Postalm is particularly popular with families, and is also ideal for cross-country skiers and ski tourers! In summer, there are circular hiking trails, the via ferrata in the Postalm Gorge, mountain bike tours, swimming under the waterfall or trips to one of the numerous managed huts and to the Salzkammergut. Lake Wolfgangsee can be reached by car in 30 minutes. Fresh farm products are available within 1.5km in summer.

Position

The hut is very close to the Austrian border, in Bavaria, in the middle of the alpine pasture, in the Winklmoosalm/Steinplatte skiing and hiking area. (14 lifts, 44km of slopes). You can leave your car in the car park in Seegatterl and from there take the cable car up to the Winklmoosalm, or take your own car (4km driveway). It is then about 650m from the Winklmoosalm car park to the hut. The hut owner will help with luggage transport. In summer, there is access to the alpine pasture.

Next town with shops, inns Reit im Winkl 9km, ski area with ski school in the immediate vicinity, also over 35km of cross-country ski trails and winter hiking trails, which are stroller and family friendly in summer.
