Position

Sunny and quiet, in beautiful nature, in the middle of the ski area, 10km above Lienz. In summer, access by car, in winter, access to the car park 600m away, from there the hut owner will take you up or take the lift, descent on skis to the hut in about 10 minutes. Hunting holidays possible on request. 

Distances

Ski slope and tobogganing just 100m away, ski school, curling rink 1.5km. The Zettersfeld ski area is a pure nature experience. In the face of the Lienz Dolomites, it offers 6 lifts and reaches up to 2,278 meters. Inn 300m, shopping, restaurants in the village (10km). Hiking trails directly from the hut, swimming pool, bike rental 11km. Summer skiing on the Mölltal Glacier!

Furnishing

You will live on the ground floor, made of light, friendly wood, rustic and comfortably furnished. Living room with fireplace, kitchenette with electric stove (2 hotplates), refrigerator, microwave, mini oven, coffee machine. Radio, TV, WiFi (fees apply). One room with four-poster bed, one room with 2 bunk beds, own sauna! Central heating via fireplace. The upper floor is not rented out and is private. In front of the hut there are meadows, covered seating area, deck chairs, grill. Parking space for riding horses at the hut. Please bring your own bed linen and towels.

Local tax currently €2/person/night, final cleaning €65, pet €35. Winter: if required, luggage transport depending on quantity €20/trip.

Position

In the midst of the impressive backdrop of the Hohe Tauern, on a large meadow, standing alone with a wonderful view of the Grossglockner! Sunny and quiet, in the midst of the most beautiful natural landscape in Austria, not far from the ski area and directly in the hiking and biking paradise of the Hohe Tauern National Park with its over two hundred 3000-meter peaks. Wide glacier fields, deep green mountain lakes and impressive waterfalls characterize this beautiful cultural landscape. 

Distances

Nearest town Kals in East Tyrol 7km, Matrei 27km, Lienz 38km, ski area Großglockner Resort Kals-Matrei with 45km of slopes and 17 modern facilities 7km away. The ski area is the largest in East Tyrol and particularly ideal for families. Cross-country skiers will find wonderful tours around Kals that have received the Tyrolean cross-country ski trail seal of approval. The hut is also the ideal starting point for ski tours in the Glockner Group or Schober Group. Do you dare to take the royal tour of the Großglockner? In summer, you can easily get to the best starting points for long hikes by gondola. Between Kals and Matrei, Austria's highest mountains await you: the Großglockner at 3,798m and the Großvenediger at 3,674m. Many managed alpine pastures, a water viewing path, endless hiking trails, mountain lakes and a breathtaking panorama await you. The gondola takes you up to the top in a relaxed manner, even on your bike, and you can look forward to the many trails and downhill! 600m below the hut is the Lucknerhaus, an inn with traditional delicacies and international specialties. Playground, climbing garden with 33 routes and 5 multi-pitch routes in 600m. 

Furnishing

The hut was renovated in 2022 and lovingly and tastefully renovated. Ground floor: cozy living room with seating area, small couch, kitchenette with wood stove, oven, ceramic hob, refrigerator, coffee machine. 1 shower, 1 toilet. 1 double room, 1 room with bunk bed, infrared cabin. Top floor: storage room with 6 beds. Heating with wood stove and infrared radiator. Bathroom underfloor heating. If the temperature drops significantly below zero degrees, the water may no longer come out of the tap. Then there is bottled drinking water on site and the domestic water would have to be melted from snow like in the past. In front of the hut there is a garden with a seating area and a barbecue area with 2 large barbecue barrels and a wonderful view. In spring and autumn, white deer often graze right in front of the hut! This special feature only exists at the foot of the Großglockner near Kals!

Local tax currently € 2 per person per night, electricity € 0.40/kwh, final cleaning € 80, pet € 35. Bed linen can be rented € 10 per set. Deposit € 400.
Important price information for this cabin: when booking weekly, the price is for 7 days/6 nights! Arrival Saturday from 1pm but departure Friday(!) by 3pm so that cleaning can be organized in between.
